Alright....for my queen (was rooting for her to win the 1v1 but I'll take all the hype she's currently getting)

"And the win goes to Napheesa Collier!" My heart broke a little, hearing that Aaliyah had lost. My girl didn't win. I didn't know how she'd take it, not at all, but I hoped it wouldn't effect her much. The only thing she had to get out of this was that she had proved to everyone she was better than they could have imagined.

'Phee...how do you feel about your win?" The reporter shoved the mic in Phee's face, but my attention was on Lili. Her stride off the court hadn't changed. Her confidence hadn't taken a hit, or at least that's what it looked like.

Aaliyah's eyes light up as they fell on me. Her smile got bigger the closer she got. Her energy radiating off, the atmosphere changing with it.

She was proud of herself.

She was proud of herself just as much as I was proud of her. I gather her in a hug, taking the girl's warmth as much as I could.

"I can't believe I made it that far, like, that's crazy!" She pulled apart just enough to look down at me, "I couldn't have done it without you...i hope you know that."

Her smile made me smile. She was beyond perfect. She was the girlfriend anyone could ask for. "Babesss."

She rolled her eyes playfully, "don't 'babe' me, I mean it. I mean, come on! You're like the best cheerleader and coach at the same time!"

"lili, I don't even know how to coach basketball," I laughed out.

"but you still do? Man, maybe you're better than me," jokes flowed from her mouth. I couldn't believe she was taking the loss so well.

"alright, stop playing cute!"

"never!" She pulled us back together, my head resting against her chest. Her arms held me a little tighter. "Y/n...i mean it though. You really do make everything a little easier, a little more possible."

"Baby," I pull apart, my hands encompassing her face between them, "you're the reason you're here. You've worked so hard, and it's showing. All those hours, all the sweat and tears; you've done this. No one else."

Blush coated her cheeks at the praise, "Stopppp."

"Never....i mean it, Lili. You deserve your flowers," I placed a soft kiss on her cheek, then a longer one on her lips. "Now, go out there and let the reporters talk to you."

A groan escaped her lips, "I would rather stay here....maybe take you back to the hotel..."

"Nope," a small chuckle fell from my mouth, "I need everyone to see how sportman-like you are. Let them know you're not effected."

"okay, but only because you're telling me too," leaning down, she pecked my lips, "I love you, babe."

"I love you more....now go!"

Another roll of her eyes and she was off, talking to Phee about the game. The way she spoke so animatedly, you could tell she was just happy to be here, playing the sport she loved. Eventually, Aaliyah had made her way through a crowd of people. Questions kept getting thrown in her direction, she'd answer with a smile.

"so, Aaliyah, how do you feel about the way you played tonight," the shorter woman asked.

"Well, I think I just proved why I'm here, why I play. Plus, tonight, I can thank my beautiful girlfriend for all the pride and confidence she installs in me. Love you, y/n!"

I blew a kiss, she caught it.

"y'all are adorable, go spend some time with her right now!" The reporter patted her back, and Aaliyah didn't fight it.

"thank you," and she jogged my way. Lifting me off my feet, she kissed my lips. I felt myself melt into her. Everything seemed to disappear when I was with her. It just felt right. Everything did with her.

"So...should I take my beautiful, talented, strong, perfect girlfriend out for dinner?" I asked as she put me down.

"I don't know....what you thinking?"

"You pick?"

"Fine with me....lead the way!"

We found ourselves laughing and talking up a storm in the comfort of our car. I couldn't help but notice this spark in her eyes. The way she looked at me deepened my love for her.

"what you thinking about, y/n/n?" Tilting her head, resting it gently on the head rest of her seat.

"You."

She snickered, "and why's that?"

"I got lucky," her face contorted in confusion, "you make me so happy, and proud, and everyday I fall deeper in love with you. You make me feel so love sick....in the best way of course."

Laughing, she shook her head, "You're cute, ya know?"

I rolled my eyes.

"no, I mean it," her hand reached across the center console, placing itself on my thigh, "but if anyone is lucky, it's me."

"babe-" "No, I'm serious. You're always by my side, cheering me on. You keep me going, make my drive stay intact. I wouldn't be anywhere I am without you. I couldn't think a stupid college party more in my life than the one were we met."

A silence settled between us, but within a second, her lips moved against mine. Her hands seemed to move against me, not in a needy-rushed way, but in way that she wanted me closer.

I broke it for a second, "I need to stop somewhere before we go back to the hotel."

A small laugh came from the girl, "did you just break a make out sess to tell me you needed to stop somewhere?"

Heat rose to my cheeks, "yeahhh....i guess I did, but it's important!"

"alright, alright....lets get going, I guess."

I quickly drove to the small shop I wanted to stop at. It was a small thing I wanted to do for Lili, so I made her stay in the car. I grabbed whatever I needed, basically sprinting out of the shop to give the girl what I had got her.

"there's no way!"

"I got the flowers you deserve...ya know..." I could feel myself blushing, but Aaliyah's face matched mine.

"I love you," she pulled me into a short kiss, "and these are so pretty."

"I love you...and they're pretty for a pretty girl."

Endless scrolling turned into you following asleep. When you woke up, you found a pool of spit under your chin and your phone was dead. Rolling your eyes, you sat up stretching your arms before plugging your phone in and wiping your face. Today you had planned to get breakfast with Carolina today, to debrief from the past few days. It had caught you by surprise how much your co-star had been on your mind- an unhealthy amount you should say…

Hopefully this date would help clear your mind and focus on the actual movie and not Adam Driver. 

You arrived at the coffee shop shortly before Carolina did so you found a table by the window. When she arrived: she lit up instantly when her eyes met yours. “Hey girl!!!!” She let out a squeal of excitement as she frolicked over. Standing up, you embraced her in your arms. “Oh em gosh we have so much to talk about!!” Of course, Carolina couldn't wait to start talking. Sitting back down, you took a sip of hot coffee before speaking “So i want to discuss how JJ is planning on building and establishing me and- Sorry- Taylor and Johns (you and Adams characters) relationship”

“He wants you and Adam to get to know each other from the other side of the camera so that way we have something to build off of before we start filming.”  This caught you by surprise.In the past, no directors had asked you to have an actual connection that isn't just acting.

“We have 7 weeks till filming starts and I've already scheduled you and Adam a reservation at the restaurant down the road for tonight- lets get ahead yeah?” Dinner. Tonight. With Adam. It was hard to imagine what this could possibly mean. “So it's a date basically?”

“Oh gosh no silly!” She laughed, shaking her head. “Just think about it as a…” she paused. “Yeah it's basically a date.”

Oh Carolina, why would you do this to me!!

“No the red! No wait- the blue! wait - yes the red! Wait..” Holding up the two dresses and making Carolina pick was impossible. She was your hype woman and you looked good and anything but gosh this woman could not pick to save her life. “Girl, just pick! I'm going with the red-” before you could finish Adams manager walked in-”The cab will be here in an hour” she left quickly after dropping the news. Lovely, now I'm being rushed. 

“Ok pick a dress and i’ll get someone her to fix your hair and makeup-”

“No- I got this. I’ll be out in a few minutes.”

Carolina smiled, looking up from her phone and going over to hug you. “First impressions are everything” she whispered in your ear. All you could do was laugh.

Dress? Red(or blue?) No yeah red…

Hair? Down! No up!! Wait… Down!!

Makeup? Uhhhhhh…

“Ms. Y/L/N! The cab is here!!”

Crap! You quickly grabbed your purse and ran downstairs while still trying to put shoes on. After who knows how long, you finally got your shoes on and was greeted by Adam. 

“Evening.” He said, holding out his arm.

“Good evening.” You joyfully intertwined your arm around his elbow, letting him guide you into the cab. 

The flash of the cameras was bleeding. Being an actor in Hollywood meant stalkers, love letters, cat calls, and of course- paparazzis. Security did their best to quickly get you too into the car with little to no time for the cameras to catch a glance of you and your co-star. As soon as you entered the car- a woman- around the age of 20, started pounding at the window of the car. “Adam! You are so hot! Have my ba-” the car sped off before the woman had a chance to finish. You glazed over at Adam but he didn't seem fazed at all. Was he used to this? The ride was quiet. All that could be heard was the rolling on the car on the roads of LA and the faint playing of the radio. Before you could be relieved of the stress of this event, you stupidly went on instagram and your DM’s were full of pictures that the paparazzis had taken just minutes ago. The pictures were not as clear as expected considering you basically ran to the car. You could just faintly make out the scene of Adams' arm around yours. 

Once you arrived at the restaurant, the door swung open and a doorman held out his hand to you. You hesitantly grabbed it. Making sure your dress didn't get caught in the car door- you exited the vehicle and was once again escored beside Adam and security. Little to no paparazzis were around but somehow, many civilians knew you two were expected. Some profanities and obscure things were shouted but you too paid no attention to them. The restaurant lights were wildly contrasted with the dark outside. Adjusting to the lighting, you walked over to a table that was draped with a white cloth along with two wine glasses, silver wear, and a candle. Adam pulled out the seat, gesturing to you to sit down. Embarrassed, you smiled and whispered ‘thank you’ under your breath. Adam sat down across from you.

“So-” Adam began to speak, his brown eyes looked so whimsical in the lighting. Before speaking again, he cleared his voice. “Where are the menus?” He chuckled, looking around the restaurant. At Least he was trying to make this not awkward as possible.

“I was just thinking that! Have you ever been here before?” You scanned the room, it was quite empty- well entirely empty.

“No, you?” You shook your head. Right as you were going to say something, your waiter walked over, pen and paper in hand. “Apologies for the wait- what can I start you off to drink?” You both ordered a glass of red wine to start and shortly after receiving menus- ordered entries. Taking a sip of your drink, Adam asked “Thoughts on the film so far? Well, the script that is.” He brushed his hair back, still making eye contact with you. You couldn't believe you were having dinner with Adam Driver. He was so beautiful and there was something about him that wouldn't allow you to look away.

“I like it! Also- apologies for Carlonia setting this whole ‘date’ thing up- she can be really extra sometimes' ' putting date in quotes excentauted how awkward this dinner was. You hoped he would just laugh it off but- oh no.

“Carolina?” he laughed, shaking his head while looking down, “No, this wasn't JJs or Carolinas idea. It was mine.”

I am so FRIKEN EXCITED for it, man, you have no idea.

One Piece is obviously going to be very difficult to transition into a live action setting, but i think theyre doing the absolute best they can with the cards they were given. I like to keep my expectations low so that im always surprised, and boy howdy was i surprised with that trailer. I literally watched it like 5 times over in pure glee.

I really cant explain why… i think it’s just the childlike wonder within my soul being like “omg my fav characters doing something fun :O!! Im so excited :DD”

Plus the actors (from what ive seen) are all really fun and i really wanna watch their full on screen chemistry. Like sure its childlike wonder, but its also so much curiosity. Like how are they gonna pull this off :D??

The only thing i could see happening that would make me dislike it is the cgi, but like… i know in my heart that i Will Not Care if the cgi is bad. I used to watch Supergirl AND The Flash CW TV shows and didnt mind.

Actually that’s not true, i have another fear for the show. About a year ago or so there was some kind of leak (idk if its even real or not) for the script that depicted luffy acting not very luffy-like. But like… surely they fixed that. I dont want to live in a world where luffy is depicted giving genuine pep talks and not just telling someone that “yeah if i dont accomplish this then I’m probably dead” (which winds up being more inspiring than anything else he could possibly say)

Plus, if this live action thang turns out to be good????? Ohhhhh ohh hohohoooo. The friends of mine who dont watch one piece and have no intention of watching one piece will be secured tightly in a chair with duct tape and forced to watch it.

I think this little bite sized nugget of one piece could be a lot less pressure to try to get others into since it’ll be so short (in comparison to its 2d counterpart). And who knows, maybe watching the first bit will inspire them to continue watching. :’).

So i guess you can say ive got high hopes.

I can really tell this whole thing has been a labor of love, and thats enough to get me hype.

And also luffy’s actor is very cute.

a time when writing was really, really hard: september-november was a bit hard for me, because i was going through some really difficult personal issues then, so writing also in turn became a bit more difficult. doing anything at all was difficult tho lol so what can you do

how did you grow as a writer last year: i've gotten a lot more consistent about writing regularly. i figured out How To Write Fanfiction as well, which was cool

who was your greatest positive influence this year as a writer (could be another writer, beta, cheerleader, etc.) i gotta say, @professional-lurker-42 has been the most incredible cheerleader throughout my manuscript writing journey, and has grown into be just one of the most amazing friends.

anything from your real life show up in your writing last year: god when doesn't it lol. but honestly it's not cathartic or really anything at all, it's just genuine. even if the experiences can be different, the emotions are very real.

i will say, though, that specifically as edwin grappled with his sexuality throughout manuscript, reading the comments people wrote was incredibly cathartic. like middle school me was fundamentally healed by hearing strangers on the internet say that this is not the thing that will ruin his life and it will be okay

any new wisdom you can share with other writers: you can always do better. you could always fix something and make it better and revise more and just like you're never going to get it to perfect. so, and i say this with so much love, get over yourself and finish it. you're not GOING to make it perfect so stop trying to make it perfect and instead make it yours and make it real

any projects you’re looking to starting (or finishing) this year? i'll be finishing manuscript in 2025, probably vibing through a lot of we'll carry on as well. i also have a few other ideas in the works, which, shortly before i finish manuscript will commence, to "take over" in a way. hyped for those as well!

Part 3

Eva and Ella walked through the door absolutely exhausted they went straight to the sofa and fell onto it. Ella looked around it was evening and nobody was around, usually they'd be having drinks by now in the living room or outside in the garden, but she could see through the huge glass doors that it was empty.

‚I wonder where they all are' she said, she wasn't really asking because obviously Eva wouldn't know either. She then heard a squeal coming from behind the sofa and everyone jumped out shouting ‚surprise'.

Only then had Eva realised she hadn't actually greeted any of them she was out of the house that early this morning! They all greeted with hugs and smiles on their faces. Although Eva was dreading getting to Lewis, she wasn't sure that she believed that he didn't see her last night, but what can she do, she's here now.

None of them had seen Eva for almost a year since she moved out of France to England, Eva told them it was for work but they knew it was mainly because Ashton wanted her there. Most of them doubted that she would actually come on this vacation. So they were all super excited when they finally greeted her!

She got to the back of the line of people waiting to greet her expecting Lewis to be there but he wasn't, but she didn't dwell on it and didn't ask about it, although she couldn't wait to see what all these girls are hyping up. Sure enough they seen a slightly confused look on her face.

‚Lewis isn't here at the moment, we were going to cook dinner but he said it's on him tonight and has gone out to pick it up, he went half an hour ago so he should be here any minute' miles explained. ‚Yeah no problem, I'm ready to eat!' Eva shouted,

'before that I'm hoping we are stocked with drinks because you all may have had your alcoholic fix last night but I didn't' she said, they all laughed and jenny and Connor went to pour some drinks. As they were walking away, Eva was watching them, he had his arm around her shoulder and while they were talking their faces so close together as if they were about to kiss. She's seen them before hugging and cuddling that's just what happened in this friendship group but something felt different. She looked away with a smile on her face happy for two of them if there was something going on.

Just as they brought the drinks back, like clockwork they heard the front door open. Even though Eva was excited, she slumped down further into the settee from anxiety cause it was finally about to happen, she was going to meet the guy everyone is hyping up and the guy who obviously seen her naked last night, but being a gentleman he's denying it, that scores some good points in her book.

Then again, like clockwork her phone rings and it's Ashton, she knows she can't not answer cause he will think all sorts of things about her so she walks out into the yard before even seeing Lewis to pick up the face time.

‚Hey baby, how are you?' Ashton asked. He never started a conversation with hey baby unless there was something bad that he was about to tell her.

‚Im fine' she said with a tired look on her face ‚I have a funky feeling I'm gonna be a whole lot worse after this conversation though' she rolled her eyes knowing what was coming.

‚Yeah, well there might be a bit more in the press about me, I'm giving you a heads up like you asked, some girl kissed me as I was turning in the club last night and I'm sure someone must've gotten some photos. But no biggie it meant nothing to me' after it happened a few times and she knew it wasn't going to stop, she asked him to always give her a heads up so she was mentally prepared for the rollercoaster she would see in the press.

Eva didn't want to show how much this hurt her, it's happened so many times but she can't help but believe him that he did nothing wrong, but in anger she also told him

‚Yeah, I have something to confess, Lewis, liams friend that I told you about, he may have seen me naked last night, but don't worry nobody seen so it won't be out in the press to embarrass you like you're embarrassing me' she said sarcastically. She didn't want an argument but she just couldn't help it, the guy had a hold over her and she knew it she knew she shouldn't put up with this but she was in too deep.

He couldn't believe what he was hearing, ‚how does somebody see you naked if you've not slept with them may I ask? Are you already cheating on me? This is why I didn't want you to go' he was now shouting, not letting her get a word in Edgeways, she waiting for him to finish his rant before she told him ‚I didn't sleep with him it was an accident,but anyways I'm leaving you to think about the embarrassment your actions are going to cause me on this trip, my friends already hate you and you're giving them yet another reason. I think a break would do us good let me be for a while and we'll talk when I'm back off vacation' then she hung up.

Ashton loved this, this was his free pass to do what he wanted without her getting mad or upset, but in the same breath he also felt her slipping away like she didn't care about what he was doing anymore, he used to get a reaction and now he gets an eye roll. He knew she was going to come back to him soon enough anyway, he could have his cake and eat it.

Eva put on a brave face and came back into the house, as she walked through the door she smiled at everyone, knowing they probably heard the whole conversation, but also knowing that nobody would mention it unless she wanted to talk about it.

Lewis stood up out his seat and walked over to her, ‚hey I'm Lewis we haven't met properly yet but it's nice to see you'

‚Hey I think you seen enough of her last night' miles shouted causing Eva to shoot him a look that would kill. She looked back at him, he was everything she liked in a guy, his smile, his features were soft and kind, he again had no top on, what is it with guys without a top she thought to herself. She couldn't help but glance down at the rest of his body and with a small smile hugged him ‚great to meet you Lewis, it's amazing to finally put a face to the rest of you' she laughed as she let go of him finding a place to sit on the floor in front of everyone.

After a few drinks, we were all still sat reminiscing about all the good times we'd spent together, Lewis was on ‚summer break from work' that he didn't need to use his vacation days for, I felt so envious! If I'm not in work I don't get paid, whereas he just gets his salary no matter what, I could do with a job like his, I didn't want to pry so I didn't ask what he did for work, but it must be a great company to work with.

‚What do you guys so for Christmas? I'm off from December until March and I think I'll get some of my guys together and we can plan something like this again' he said, Eva looked at him scrunching my eyebrows together confused.

‚What are you looking at me like that for' he asked.

‚Boy do you think we're made of money? We scrape together just to come here every summer' Chloe said, his face dropped as he quickly apologised, ‚all expenses paid then let's say, I've missed you guys and I've enjoyed meeting Eva so I'm down if you all are'.

Everyone agreed apart from Eva, ‚I'll have to think on it' she said. She didn't grow up rich but she weren't on the breadline. No matter how little her parents had they would always help anyone who needed it even if it meant they were out of pocket, so she wasn't happy taking from Lewis when it could also mean he'd be out of pocket especially when he doesn't work for over 3 months during Christmas, it was a hard pass for her.

‚Hey how about we play truth or dare, it's Been a while?' Connor suggested, to which we all agreed excited to start playing.

'The rules are you answer truthfully or do the dare or it is shot time for you! We usually end up taking shots anyway cause we never back out of the dares.' Connor explained to Lewis and he just nodded.

'Okay I'll go first' jenny said as she turned towards Lewis, he picked truth to which he received boo's, 'hmm... did you actually see Eva naked yesterday?'

Wow she was still going on about that Eva thought, 'I thought this was a forgotten topic' she thought out loud, Lewis didn't answer and took his shot at which everyone smirked.

It was now Lewis' turn to ask a question, he looked around at everyone until his eyes landed on Eva.

'Here we go' miles said as he rubbed his hands, knowing whatever it was the dare would be done and the truth would be told.

'Ping, ping, ping, ping' everyone's phones started going crazy. I picked mine up and there it was a new headline 'Somebody find Ashtons girlfriend' with a picture of him and a girl kissing with her legs wrapped around him. Eva put her hand over her face, she was tired of this, she looked up and everyone had a worried look on their face. This wasn't the first time but for them it doesn't get easier seeing their friend in this situation.

'I feel bad for his girl, this is the second headline this week' everyone's heads snapped towards Lewis 'why you all staring, she must be embarrassed, i wouldn't even leave the house' he said.

'Bro, stop'

'No, no, no, let him carry on' Eva interrupted ponying her finger at Connor to be quiet but she didn't take her eyes off Lewis, with her brows furrowed,'keep going Lewis'

'Well I'm just saying, she's got no self respect and has no sympathy for herself, he posts her all the time without showing her face but goes and does all this not even behind her back but straight to her face, I mean what idiot would sit at home taking it' he carried on, everyone was gaping at him just waiting for him to shut up.

'Thanks for your opinion Lewis, highly appreciated' Eva said as she stood up and began walking out of the room, with a sick feeling in her stomach she turned around and gave him one last look.

'She's not sitting at home, I'm here with all of you, it's me that's the idiot'.

Nobody had ever put this situation to her like he just did, she didn't hate him for it, he didn't know he was talking about her, the only reason she was mad is because deep down she knew that this is what people thought, but she always denied it to herself telling herself that her love for him is too strong, but after hearing Lewis she no longer thought that.

season 9 vol 8 thoughts: my hype has died down from last week, now Stefan is just another man, and I'm again critical of the choice to paywall everything and spend so much time focused on Kat

first of all before I post screenshots (of which there are few btw bc it wasn't super eventful imo) I did have a moment looking at my mc and was like damn get her some brown contacts so she looks different that's why. and I think I may have accidentally switched her skin tone too, point being, as a result, I take back what I said last week about not going for Cassius bc he looks like my mc's cousin

but the lunch with Uma, I have mixed feelings on the concept in general. Like for story it's interesting bc the other person could lie, but if I think about it like it would actually happen on love island, maybe the other person downplays some stuff, but straight up lying? nah. and then it would in theory get the girls to stick (just bc usually it's the guys that are being messy and flirting it up with the casa girls), but in my head the postcard/video always does the opposite. it's like a sneak preview into what the guys are doing so it encourages the girls to get angry or get back at them

In fact, lunch with casa girl to spill secrets usually happens AFTER casa so having it here is weird.

in execution though, no doubt, kinda lame. I mean I like the insights into casa, but you could get that info next week when everyone's together or in movie night or like a mean tweets challenge or whatever. You have to pay for info so it's already awful but also MC doesn't get the option to lie/be vague to Uma, so she just tells Uma everything we the audience already know and then Uma doesn't really tell us anything. Like we don't even get to know the names of the other two casa girls and we told her about everyone.

Speaking of Uma, they couldn't have fixed her hair this season????

Finn's being flirty, sure, and I might be kicked off his route now (I'm not sure if rejecting him by the pool did that), so I don't know if he acts any different if you're on his route bc he claims to have changed???

Jude's a mess who gives a fuck but also that observation may be apparent to the audience, but I wouldn't picture a casa girl saying it. LIUSA S6 has a perfect example: it's not the casa girls saying "oh he sucks because he's been egging on the other guys" but them saying "oh he's the sweetest, because he's encouraging the other guys to explore connections" and then in game it would be letting the reader figure out what that means. it's in part them always having such surface level writing (tell not show) but it gives all their "villains" this weird gameplayer vibe. like I don't think Uma and Jude are genuine and they are acutely aware of the public, but I don't think they should be written like that, I think they should just be written to be assholes. Uma's a liar and Jude's a bully. Not saying we can't have gameplayer characters, just don't make it so obvious.

Anyway, coming back into the Villa and then for some reason you have to pay gems to tell the other girls information?? I don't like the paying gems to receive information but this is more confusing bc it's the opposite lol. Actually, Kat, if you want to know what happened on the date you're gonna have to give ME 17 gems.

there's a chat here MC has with Stefan about how he didn't know what he was expecting before coming back but once he saw MC it was clear he wanted her. And just to repeat what I said last week, Stefan should've started casa a little upset with MC (instead of having it be Lyle) and then ask her for forgiveness midway through the volume and here is where that chat can go where he's like yeah I tried but they weren't you.

and then I decided to give Cassius a fighting chance bc Stefan has that advantage of being her ex and i think MC should explore her options and im still mad at Marshall breaking things off with S6 MC. Cassius seems sweet and he so is during the date. It's just a shame I don't like doing the cutesy loyal casa boy route ever. If he was an OG though? Goodbye Chen and Henri

there's a part he asks about MC's job which I've been begging for someone to bring up and this chat was really cute

Ice cream thing only reminds me that I'm kinda put off the Natasha route now. If she wasn't the go to character to give exposition about Stefan and MC, then maybe. But now, I'm so stuck always having to not choose her and it's a shame. It also feels like with how much she talks about him and knowing that she brings him back if you don't, plus the Hamish stuff pre casa, it just feels like MC is second choice to these other guys. it's not as bad as Kelly, who straight up does say she's here for Finn, but it's irritating. I know Claudia kinda ends up doing that too towards the end of casa when she decides to work things out with Theo, but idk it feels different this time.

Kat screaming about going exclusive with Lyle during the date was so on brand for her to draw all attention on her I don't even know if I can be annoyed bc it made sense, I just wish the ratio of time spent talking about Kat was less. Like it doesn't need to get cut down, I just think we deserved a few more scenes where MC gets to talk with the guys.

the casa guys' day wear outfits are very good imo, very stylish, except Marshall.. it feels unnatural to see him in those colors idk

omg the wild night thing. first off, once again annoyed at texts cutting people off, like how many times can you stand doing that, fusebox writing team???? but uh sure, Marshall hears about this wild night between Stefan and Chen. and you hear about it in the game

Which side note, I hate the game and I also could've sworn we've already played it in casa this season. but I guess it's just to show once again that Kat and Lyle are having problems. Could've been a chat instead. Only useful piece of information was that Cassius likes nerds and I'm like damn once again, in another life, would be my pick. Pretty much everything else about the LI's was information we've already learned (even the info about Cassius I'm sure if I romanced him earlier in casa it would've been obvious).

Also just once again, taking a backseat in the game. it's like they think the player doesn't wanna be wrong so they settle for just sitting around but that's much more fun to have the chance to be wrong. also bc it would influence people to replay I think so they can get the right answers.

anyway, wild night thing, I did fork over the gems to find out and i know this happens every gem scene for info but it was especially annoying to me this time that MC pulls him aside and is like "tell me the story" and hes like "i dont know... do you really wanna hear the full story?" im like YES she pulled you aside for this. MC confronts Stefan and I saw what yall posted about bruno so I went ahead and asked about Claudia and she was dancing with her partner from her season, and for me that's Theo and what a shame. sorry I'm a jealous ex I don't even know if my S8 mc is happy with Jin.

ANYWAY for a split second I thought the "wild night" was alluding to Stefan and Chen hooking up? which, I think wouldve been a great option. and if fusebox is so scared of making all the LI's bi, then I would've voted Stefan is bi and then Chen/Henri/Lyle/Jude maybe aren't but like hey they gave it a shot. But alas, no...

Then Stefan says he was crushing on a DJ and I know in this instance it makes less sense for them to pick a real person bc they say that the DJ tried to hook up with Chen, but I do miss some like random info about the characters and their type. like, I just remember being surprised S2 Lucas's celebrity crush was teyana taylor and I want stuff like that again

so not wild but I guess Stefan was ashamed he screwed over Chen. Then he was like "isn't that so cool of Chen to give up a hookup for you?" and idk I don't care about DJs so I was glad MC to be like oh boohoo whatever

Lyle's speech to Kat was cringe but I'm giving him benefit of the doubt bc I would actually like him and Kat to be happy so Kat can stop bothering Finn and stop bothering MC.

And Kat of course goes to flirt with whoever you went on a date with, and I guess luckily, I happened to pick Cassius who I wasn't gonna bring back anyway. Then you get like five lines of dialogue each with Marshall and with Stefan (who's hanging out with Natasha) which could've and should've been longer for final chats.

Then stick or twist just feels so tacked onto the end of the episode, but it should be like a huge thing. They stretch that shit out SO LONG in the show. Like in the three episodes this volume, the second one should end with cliffhanger announcing the girls are going back to casa that night. then the next episode starts with final chats and the map opens up and you can talk to Stefan but maybe Natasha interrupts, then Cassius saying he understands you gotta do what you gotta do, then Marshall who gives you one last plea he's changed (similar to the actual game again it should be longer). Add on Lyle talking about how he feels he fucked up with Kat here instead of right before the firepit. Honestly also a chat with Kat and Kelly wouldn't hurt either, with Kat contemplating her options and then seeing what Kelly's thinking about Finn, just to remind you about the guys back in the villa.

Then pep talk in the dressing room where it's revealed/implied what each girl is gonna do (Natasha can be vague since if you pick Stefan then she picks Marshall, so just have her say she's not sticking with Hamish for sure) AND THEN stick or twist. And I think each couple should be revealed in order. I don't think we need to give Kat too much time in the spotlight, so Kat goes first, picks Lyle, then walks into the Villa and the girls and casa boys are waiting outside but can hear them yelling (bc I just assume there's gonna be yelling around kat). And then MC picks, walks in with her guy or single, and then sees Uma and Chen together, then cliffhanger.

and that being said, despite what I wrote about the date with Uma, I like the idea that MC spilled who the casa guys are and then she made the decision to go for someone insecure and easy so she could stay and then couple with the casa guy she really wants later, and it just happens to be the guy she wanted was the one MC chose. Or alternatively, she did actually want the villa boy she picked (and also was lying during the date about him being close with Jessica). Very snakey and calculated for love but not too gameplayer-y for my distaste.

but for predictions, I think Hamish sticks bc he said he was gonna try to be loyal. I think Finn sticks bc if you're on his route, it would throw another wrench if he had a new girl. Chen/who you're with obviously twists. I could see Jude twisting, but he gives off the vibe that he sticks to try to win the show. In that case, there are two single islanders so which I'm fine with but fusebox likes to dump single islanders post casa even though it doesn't make sense to, but maybe they get the other islanders to choose to save Hamish (or I'm wrong and Hamish twists). I could also see them saying if MC is single then she chooses a boy to couple with, and can save Hamish since clearly a route (and if this is the case then I would heavily consider replaying the last chapter to keep Hamish in the game).

overall, like I said up top, kinda back to my normal level of enjoyment for this season. I was really hopeful after last week, but I was distracted by pretty faces. also I started playing perfect match and the Stefan thing reminded me of the whole neighbor thing going on in perfect match and in both it's really such a shame they send in someone from MC's past to use the second chance romance trope to distract me from a drop dead gorgeous woman named Natasha.

oh other thing, with the way my game has been going, everyone is in a mixed race couple except for Kelly and Finn, which I think is fun bc then I can pretend the audience is tweeting some version of "why is this season giving shondaland right now?"

My opinion on the finale episodes below the cut. Obviously spoiler warning lol

First of all. I see people say it was really underwhelming and i kinda have to agree? It wasnt a Bad ending or a lazy one or whatever words have been thrown around tho imo. I feel like with all the hype about how "painful" and emotional itll be from the VA and from everyone, we all just expected more tragic outcomes or something.

I am dissappointed because of that as well. I liked how Simon finally reflected a bit and had some self awareness about their situation with Betty. I loved that he didnt become Ice King again or that they didnt do some actual time travel to "fix" stuff. I also liked that they didnt necessarily made him a bad husband (?/boyfriend?) he kinda just never realised that Betty has been putting more into their duo than he was.

That doesnt make him innocent tho b4 someone comes at me. He was a bit too self absorbed but i dont think he was entirely selfish either. He was a person who made mistakes and didnt realise them. The line where he said smt like "i wish we could have talked like this before" also makes it pretty clear to me that Betty never really spoke up about these things either. Golbetty had to make him aware and tbh? I think that was more Golb than Betty.

The whole Scarab ordeal felt a bit. Ehhhhhh I dont know. His anger reaction to things suddenly becoming "canon" (lmao) was very nice to see but him being allowed to wreck havoc like that for a good while felt more like an excuse to bring the others into this world. I dont have a problem with it btw i just dont see the point why we need Farmwold Jay and Little... I forgot her name damn. Also whys Babyworld Finn here 😭 (i get it, he was in the tank, i dont mean literally i mean Why)

As much as i was soooo mad when LSP freed the scarabs it was very in character. I like how it was a thing that he likes animals from the start so it wasnt senseless stupidity, it was something he would do even tho it was the wrong thing to do. Made me pause and lay down to stare at the ceiling in frustration for a solid minute i cant lie, still in chacter tho.

But alas. I like how in the end it all didnt turn magical (completely since ig its partially magical with Cake and everything else) and how Cake finally cooled down about the crown. IM ALSO SO HAPPY THEY KEEP IN TOUCH WITH SIMON OVER THE PHONEEE!! But yea him wanting to move was so real and I hope he does lmao he deserves it.

I only kinda wish they made him reconnect with Marcy a bit more. I am actually pretty dissappointed that we dont know if he ended up reaching out to her more or not. I understand his situation with not wanting to spook her, i actually feel that bit in a soul connecting level good god, but idk. Im at least happy he is Literally in therapy now

(Kinda makes me wonder tho if he spent the time between the end of AT and the start of FC with no like therapist or psychologist. Just rawdogging his mental illness about everything. Mood tbh but like did he? Did he??)

Anyway despite my slight dissappointment i am actually pretty happy with the outcome. I really liked the theories and the ideas of how Simon may make FC magical or what he will become but tbh this is probably the best outcome. Everyone got a happy/hopeful ending (minus Farmwold Finn ig who im atp assuming is dead. Also Star Marceline and PB) which i am really REALLY happy about.

I gotta say I already wanna write fanfic about these guys so inspirational effect granted. Woooo.

Tldr

I was kinda dissappointed because it was overhyped about how emotional it will be when it really wasnt but other than that I am really happy about how the ending turned out save for the alternatives staying in FC

Edit: I SEE PEOPLE TALK ABOUT THE WHOLE SHOW DONT TELL THING AND TBHHH??? TTTTBBBHHHH??? YEAH. IT WAS ALL JUST TALKED ABOUT LIKE WHAT ABOUT SYMBOLISM? MY GOD.

Also Simon had like 10 minutes to get closure with Betty which was horrifically rushed but again, when your wife turns into Basically God you kinda dont really have a choice to chit chat. Still not happy about it but again, could have been worse. Could have been much worse.
